If you're looking to get
into growing your own bonsai trees you're going to see some
basic things. It's important to have the right equipment and
tools for this ancient art. It actually is not as easy as
the movies make it look.
Basic Equipment:
* Bonsai Pot or Container
* Bonsai Soil Mix
* Bonsai Sheers
* Bonsai Wire
* Bonsai Seeds
* Fine Gravel
* A Digging Tool
About Bonsai Pots:
There's are a lot of
different types of pots to choose from. They come in many
shapes, sizes, and colors so picking out your bonsai pot can
be a challenge sometimes. Getting the wrong pot can lessen
the tree's impact, however, the right pot can enhance it's
beauty and help it achieve it's maximum potential. Some
things to remember are:
1. The pot must be at least
2/3 wider than the height of the tree if the tree is taller
rather than wide. 2. If the tree's branch spread is wider
than its height, the pot length must be a little more than
2/3 of the width. 3. Is the tree a flowering or
non-flowering plant 4. Make sure the pot features a drainage
hole.
About Bonsai Seeds:
When you get your bonsai seeds you should place them in
water to be able to tell which seeds are viable to grow your
plant and which ones aren't. Any seed that floats should be
discarded since it will not be usable to grow your bonsai
tree.
In the lowest portion of the pot there should be an earth
mix. The layer above that should be a mixture of fine gravel
and potting soil. Make sure this layer is about 1 inch below
the pot's rim. After doing that place the bonsai seeds about
1 to inches apart. The final layer will be a mixture of
akadama and potting compost. Lastly, Water the seedbed with
a fine spray nozzle.
About The Bonsai Soil:
It's important the oil be able to hold moisture. Bonsai
plants can sometimes go long stretches of time without
needing to be water, of around three weeks. The soil mixture
is important for allowing the plant to hold water forthis
length of time. The soil should be high quality so it can
get the nutrients it needs.
These are some basic things you will need to know and have
before you start bonsai gardening.
