Bonzai Tree - Growing It For A Hobby

Bonzai - Free Information

Hi there,

One of the best hobbies that you will ever find is growing your own Bonszai Tree garden. Bonzai is another spelling for Bonsai and refers to those petite trees and plants that are most often associated with Japanese Gardens.
Several centuries ago, the Japanese began cultivating and training trees in pots and it is from this culture that we have the Bonzai Tree in its current form. Though both the Chinese and Japanese practice the art of growing the Bonzai Tree, the two types are very different.
The Chinese type of Bonzai Tree is more free forming and is shaped mainly by trimming branches, while the Japanese trees are carefully groomed and shaped, providing a exceptionally cultivated Bonzai Tree.

Growing your own Bonzai Tree is a very satisfying hobby, especially for those who would like to combine their creativity with their natural green thumb. As with any hobby, it may take a little time to really know what you need in order to be successful.

When growing the Bonzai Tree it is important that the tree are kept healthy and in exceptional condition, as with any pot plant. The biggest difference to growing this type of tree to other houseplants is the trimming of the branches and roots. There is a process to this.

As with any art form, growing the Bonzai Tree requires a certain expertise, but fortunately there are a lot of different info on the subject, both on this website and the internet in general. Learn which Bonzai Tree is the best species to start out with; what type of soil you will need, along with the best fertilizer and growing climate.

Growing your own Bonzai Tree garden is truly a hobby you will love and want to share with all your friends and family.
